ZocDoc can be a great way to drive new clients. When setting up your insurance listings on ZocDoc, here are some details to help you set up your profile.
Note! Being in network with an insurance carrier doesn’t mean you’re in network with ALL of their users. Insurers may exclude nutrition coverage from certain sub-plans, only cover nutrition counseling for specific diagnoses, or they may limit the number of appointments.
When a client books with you, Zaya will conduct an eligibility check and share details of coverage with you and the client.
States:
You should add the states that you have a state specific license for.
In addition, you should ask ZocDoc to add you to any states that do not have state-specific dietitian licensing requirements.
Insurance Carriers:
When you’re in-network with a new insurance carrier through Zaya, you can add that insurance to your ZocDoc profile. You’ll select the carriers you’re in network with, and the types of plans. In addition, it’s important that you reach out to ZocDoc support to let them know that:
You are NOT in network with any Medicare or Medicaid Plans
If you’re in network with Oscar, your Oscar coverage only applies to patients in New York
The ZocDoc insurance selection will look like the chart below. The check-marks indicate what types of plans you should include once you’re in network with that payer
For New York
For all other states
